Right well, I'll start with some Chelty festival information and news reports that I have read reciently. The Sun quote that;
'Punters aee set to wage a staggering £1BILLION in the betting at the Cheltenham horse racing festival. Bookmakers last night said it will be Britains biggest-ever gambling bozana'.
'Bookies Expect to take £500million in wages at 8,000 high street betting shops and through telephone and web accounts.'
'Another £400million will be gambeled on internet exchanges - sites on which punters can strike direct bets between themselves, And a whopping £100million will exchange in CASH at the Gloucestershire course.'
'The Cheltenham festival is always the biggest betting week of the year, outstripping Aintree's Grand National meeting and Royal Ascot.'
'The festival is a favourite with Irish punters with some 20,000 set to travle over - and more than 250,000 pints of guiness will be sunk at the course.'
Well, what a nation of fucking gam heads haha, some interesting stuff there, astonoshing to say the least, even I didn't expect that much money envolved, the fact its the 'biggest gambling bozana' yet and the festival has been changed from 3 to 4 days because of populatity is exciting and only good things can come of it!
Well, theres been joy and upset, punters were thrashing the bookies with the win of the two favourites in the two big races (Harcy Eustice in the Champion Hurdle and Moscow Flyer in the Quenn Mother Chase,' but punters got a big smack in the teeth today when odds of favourite Baracouda only reached a dissapointing second in the Ladbrokes World hurdle. It was heavly backed, heavely tipped but today it was a day for the bookmakers.
Anyway, although its the last day of the festival tommorow, the best is yet to come, The Cheltenham Gold Cup. I cannot stop banging on about this race coz it is litrally the best race of the year for me and many many more. Althought alot of the best horses have been pulled out, Best Mate for instance, a massive massive blow and saying it is heart breaking is an understatment, he was going for his 4th consecutive Gold Cup which no other horse has won but dissapointenly he was pulled out coz he burst a blood vessel and needs to have a long rest. There were also many other fancies horses pulled out such as the once favourite Kingcliff, last years Champion hurdle winner Iri's gift and another classic previous Cheltenham novice hurdle winner Fundamentalist. There is stilla field tho of alot of experianced champion horses. The name 'Cheltenham Gold Cup' speaks for itself, it is the gold cup coz it has the best staying jumping horses in the world and only the best can prevail in this race.
Here is race details:
3:15, Channel 4:

Its a toughy I can tell you that, Kicking King, Beef or Salmon, Strong Flow, Celestial Gold, Sir Rembrant, all in with chances. Is gonna be great to watch these really strong horses battle it out. I myself am backing Kicking King to win, he done me proud on Boxing day and won me £40, he came second in a challanging race last year at Cheltenham with a full field behing him, so hes aware of the track and has had experiance. Beef or Salmon, people say hes a possible danger, I wouldnt rule him out but I would give up racing for life if he won this, he fell in this race in 2003, came about 6th in 2004, so he hasnt really shown himself at this track to my knowlage, but he is in form, one to watch out for, Celestial Gold, not very well handicapped, Im not to sure at all about him, coz Cheltenham is a really adnanced racetrack, its hard and challanging, I would say him and Strong Flow, dangers, could suprise.
In conclusion, as I said Im backing Kicking King along with my good friend Phillip Monk, my step brother and possibly Cooper. Fingers crossed then! Tune in, channel 4 tommroow, well today I should say, 3.15, you never know you might enjoy it!
Well, onto other news, yesterday was pretty cool, slobbed all day, bought some cider, went to Mikes for a bit then went for a practise at Laurens, I really enjoyed it, things are starting to put themselves in to place, Ronny made a class bassline, he seems really enthuastic which is good, its really cool when people adapt to your music you have wrote, Im really proud of them. :) I actually wanted to stay a bit longer and drink withthem but didn't want to dodge Mike which Im glad I didnt do now haha! got back to him and me Mike, Chris and Haley watched a bit of a film and played Monoply WHICH I WON hahaha then I got a good fucking pounding off Mike which was keen, paying for it today tho, very sore indeed.
Well, tommorow, think Im going to the pub with Matty and Emma, was gonna ring Lauren aswell but think shes busy the wimp :P then were going to Andys for a reunitation sesh then its onto, you know it, the good old teque. Hope its as good as it was last week, I had a mint time, hope all the cool people are out; Danny, Shivvy, Shay etc haha. Well, have a nice weekend everyone, Ill be drinking budweiser and Holstein Pills if I win tommorow so COME ON KICKING KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
